Key Design Features
Cabinetry
For a modern take on Hamptons style, we selected a traditional Hamptons profile in Torbman’s Rainmaker, a sophisticated blue-grey shade. Black handles were chosen to add contrast and complement the black accents throughout the space, creating a cohesive kitchen design.
Benchtops
The benchtops are YDL Angel Fall, a luxurious white stone with subtle veining. This choice enhances the kitchen’s light and airy feel while tying in beautifully with the hexagonal marble tile splashback.
Feature Elements
- Window Splashback: A standout feature that floods the kitchen with natural light and provides picturesque views, seamlessly merging the indoors with the outdoors.
- Marble Hexagon Tile Splashback: Adds texture and visual interest to the walls, perfectly complementing the window splashback and other design elements.
Colour & Accessories
The design incorporates black accessories, including lighting, sink, and tapware, to create a striking contrast against the lighter tones of the cabinetry and benchtops. These darker accents introduce a modern edge to the traditional Hamptons aesthetic, balancing timeless elegance with contemporary style.
Design Challenges & Solutions
- Odd-Shaped Space: The unique shape of the kitchen renovation area required a creative approach to layout. By maximising the available space, we incorporated a functional island and a breakfast bar. The breakfast bar subtly delineates the space leading to the back door, offering definition while maintaining an open feel.
Outcome
Esther and Paul’s kitchen is a testament to how challenging spaces can inspire innovative design. The blend of classic Hamptons style with modern elements resulted in a kitchen that is both elegant and highly functional. The creative use of materials, thoughtful layout, and unique features deliver a warm, inviting environment that’s ideal for cooking, entertaining, and daily living.
