Ben & Annie’s Modern Hamptons Kitchen
Location: Albany Creek, QLD
Style: Modern Hamptons
Design Goals
Ben and Annie wanted to bring a sophisticated Modern Hamptons look to their Brisbane kitchen renovation while keeping the existing footprint. With their flooring in place, we aimed to achieve a seamless design transformation without the need for flooring replacements. Their vision focused on enhancing bench space and creating a stylish, functional feature bar that harmonised with their home’s open layout.
Key Design Features and Gallery

Key Design Features
Cabinetry
For a refined look, we chose a Hamptons profile with a narrow rail and finished it in two-pack White Linen paint. Soft champagne gold handles from Handle House bring a touch of luxury without overpowering the clean aesthetic, adding an elegant and personalised detail to the kitchen design.
Benchtops
The benchtops are 40 mm YDL Rosemee, offering a practical yet stylish surface that complements the kitchen’s layout. We opted for an extended U-shaped configuration with a breakfast bar, maximising bench space without the need for an island. This not only preserved functionality but also avoided extensive plumbing work.
Feature Elements
- Bar Back: To create a seamless view from the lounge, we added a feature bar back with Laminex Demi Round Surround panels, two-packed to match the cabinetry. This stylish element connects the kitchen and lounge areas beautifully.
- Open Shelving: Open shelving was added at the end of the cabinetry, creating a visual focal point when viewed from the lounge and providing a stylish space for decor.
- Appliance Garage: A bi-fold door appliance garage was included for practicality, with an Urallight floating shelf inside to keep smaller appliances tidy and within reach.
Tiles & Splashback
Hexagonal marble tiles were chosen to complete the luxurious feel and add timeless elegance, complementing the modern Hamptons aesthetic.
Layout Considerations
Maintaining the existing footprint helped us preserve the original flooring, reducing costs and keeping the renovation efficient. By extending the U-shape, we provided Ben and Annie with ample bench space without sacrificing functionality. This choice allowed us to avoid the complex plumbing work required for an island.
Outcome
The finished kitchen beautifully reflects Ben and Annie’s vision of a modern Hamptons style, blending functionality with an elegant, timeless design that enhances their home’s atmosphere. Keeping the original footprint meant a more efficient renovation, delivering on all their design goals without compromise.
