An Interview with the Megan From MKN About This Project
Located in North Lakes, this kitchen renovation blends timeless Hamptons style with modern luxury. Designed by Azaria from Modern Kitchens Northside, the project was all about opening up the existing space and introducing a sense of refined warmth and sophistication.
"Noline and Sandy wanted a larger kitchen with more space and functionality," explained Megan from MKN. "Azaria worked with them to take out a wall and create a beautiful butler's pantry tucked around the corner. It gave them extra room for storage and preparation, while keeping the main kitchen clean and elegant."
A Timeless Hamptons Look
The design centres around a two-pack Hamptons-style door, which brings classic detail to the cabinetry, paired with a 40mm Smartstone Bellini Bianco benchtop; a UV-stable, heat-proof surface that offers both practicality and luxury.
"The finishes really tie everything together," said Megan. "The bronze mirrored glass splashback reflects light and helps make the kitchen feel bigger, while the clear glass display cabinets with LED lighting add that touch of classic elegance. The look is definitely Hamptons-inspired but with a warm, luxurious twist."
Details That Elevate the Design
Every element was carefully considered to balance beauty and usability. "They used Barchi handles, LED strip lighting under the overheads, and a custom arched range hood panel that gives the whole space a focal point," said Megan. "There's also a magic corner pull-out to make the cabinetry more functional, so there's no wasted space."
These thoughtful inclusions, paired with the soft tones and subtle reflections of the bronze mirror splashback, create a kitchen that feels spacious, inviting, and beautifully cohesive.
Where Classic Meets Contemporary
The end result is a kitchen that embodies both comfort and sophistication, a space that's as functional as it is refined. "It's classic Hamptons with a bit of glamour," said Megan. "The mirrored splashback and warm tones make it feel elegant, but it's still a practical family kitchen at heart."
